Our group at the International Thanksgiving dinner had delicious food from the countries of America, Poland, India, Ireland, Belgium, Germany, the Gaspe region of Canada, as well as some Creole cooking! It was a delicious feast made even better by the wonderful company and camaraderie that we shared. Our menu items included potato skins, potato pancakes*, vegetable salad*, lard with bacon & bread*, garden pickles*, shepherd's pie, sulab jamun, Belgian waffles, corned beef and cabbage, sausage and peppers, red lentil soup, shrimp etouffee, pierogies, sweet potatoes, sloppy joes, Norristown zeps, pumpkin cookies, cheesecake, butter cookies, and brownies. This dinner is held annually on the Friday before Thanksgiving, with this year marking our 5th year. * An interesting side note... these items were made by Father Gorka. The onions, potatoes, parsley, vegetables, & cucumbers, were grown by Father in the parish garden!
