As you begin to craft your plan of how to make the most of Lent, know that Sacred Heart has something new to help foster the pillar of prayer and act as food for our journey. The chalice can be signed out to reside with you for one week. During that week, we ask that you pray for an increase in vocations and consecrated life. Starting the first week of Lent, parishioners will have the opportunity to intensify their prayers for vocations with a visit with the Pilgrim Chalice.
The Archdiocese of Philadelphia rejoices that three of her priests have been chosen by Christ and named by our Holy Father to be elevated to the dignity of the episcopal office. Archbishop Perez asks the faithful to pray daily for Bishop-elect Keith J. Chylinski, Bishop-elect Christopher R. Cooke, and Bishop-elect Efren V. Esmilla as they prepare for their episcopal ordination on March 7, 2024. A special holy hour of intercession for the bishops-elect will be offered on March 6, 2024 at 7:30 p.m. at the Cathedral Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul and is open to the public. All are invited to attend. At the Ordination Mass on March 7, seating in the Cathedral is by invitation only given space limitations. All are encouraged to participate in the Mass via livestream that day.
