As the Season of Lent approaches, we call to mind the three pillars that lead us through this time; prayer, fasting, and almsgiving. As you begin to craft your plan of how to make the most of Lent, let me present to you something new to help foster the pillar of prayer and act as food for our journey.

If you are concerned about the dwindling number of young people who are heeding God’s call; if you worry that we won’t have enough priests in the
future for Liturgy and Eucharist; then please consider, in your heart, to host the Pilgrim Chalice for a week in your home.

The Pilgrim Chalice consists of a real chalice that previously held wine, along with a paten, that held hosts; and, after the Consecration, the Body and Blood of our Lord, Jesus Christ.

The chalice can be signed out to reside with you for one week. During that week, we ask that you pray for an increase in vocations and consecrated life. Starting the first week of Lent, parishioners will have the opportunity to
intensify their prayers for vocations with a visit with the Pilgrim Chalice.

We pray that God will continue to choose those whom He will, to send forth as workers in His vineyard.
